Shanghai

Who is it for?

Although anyone can play Shanghai, due to its precise, low-scoring nature, we recommend it for advanced darts players.

On FLYBY Darts, up to 12 players can play at any one time.

Shanghai is best played as a singles game, or in small groups.

Objective

Shanghai is an intense darts game where players aim to score points by hitting specific numbers on the dartboard.

The goal is to win the game by achieving Shanghai: hitting a single, double, and treble of the same number in one turn.

With FLYBY Darts technology, scoring and turn management are automated, enhancing the game's flow.

Scoring

Players throw three darts per turn.

• Single Hit: Scores the value of the segment where the dart lands.
• Double Hit: A dart landing in the outer ring of the designated number scores double points for that number.
• Treble Hit: A dart landing in the inner ring of the designated number scores triple points for that number.
• Shanghai: To achieve a Shanghai, a player must hit a single, double, and treble of the same number within one turn. Scoring a Shanghai ends the game and awards a decisive win.

Rounds

• The game consists of 7 rounds.
• Each round focuses on a different number, starting from 1 and progressing sequentially up to 7. For example, in round 1, players aim for number 1; in round 2 for number 2; and so on.
• After 7 rounds, the numbers will not repeat.
• The game ends after round 7, or sooner, if a player achieves a Shanghai.

Winning the Game

What makes Shanghai special is that there are two ways to win.

• Shanghai Win: The first player or team to achieve a Shanghai wins the entire game.
• Points Win: If no Shanghai is scored by the end of the 7 rounds, the player or team with the highest total score is declared the winner.
